Art supplies organisation tips without spending any money!
Hey readers!
We all organise our art supplies from time to time, but within no time our perfectly planned system of storage collapses and it's all a mess again! In this post, I'll be telling you some tips to store your art supplies, such that they do not scatter again. I'll also be telling you how to store various art supplies and will show you how I store them.
We all organise our art supplies from time to time, but within no time our perfectly planned system of storage collapses and it's all a mess again! In this post, I'll be telling you some tips to store your art supplies, such that they do not scatter again. I'll also be telling you how to store various art supplies and will show you how I store them.
Tip #1: Bins
Storage bins are very useful and easy to store supplies in. You can use bins for storing various supplies like markers, fine liners, pens, brushes, etc. If you have storage bins you can use them, if not, you can use huge ice-cream tubs like I do. You can even make cubical bins yourself, by using tape and cardboard.

Tip #2: Pencil stands/mugs
Pen stands can be used for storing miscellaneous items that don't categorise with the bins. If you don't have pencil stands, then you can also use old coffee mugs/cups.

Tip #3: Drawers
Drawers are completely optional. If you have them, you can store your sketchbooks, palettes or paints in them. If not, you can use small wooden/tin boxes that open sideways. I like to use a wooden box I have, to store my coloured pencils.

Tip #4: How often you use a supply
You should always store your supplies based on how frequently you use them. The things you don't use often can be stored behind the more used ones.
How to store various art supplies-
1. Markers and pens: As mentioned earlier, I like to store my markers and pens in bins. You can also store them in pouches or boxes, as per your liking. But according to me, bins are the most convenient.
2. Brushes: Brushes can also be stored in bins, but I like to store them in the cups I use to fill water for painting. I know, not the best way to store them :), but this way they are very accessible when required.
3. Paints: Paints are best stored in boxes. The storage of these depends on how many you have. If you don't have a lot of paints, then storing them in a small box is practical. But if you have many, then storing the bottle paints in a box and tubes and cakes in another would be suitable.

4. Sketchbooks: Sketchbooks are the easiest to store. They can be stored in drawers, shelves, leaning out, facing down, it all depends on your comfortability and convenience. I like to store them in shelves.
